Pyramid found in Mexico City
Archaeologists have discovered a 1,500 year old pyramid in Mexico City, buried under a hill overlooking one of the city’s largest and poorest suburbs. Only 60cm of dirt covered the 18 metre high structure.
Part of the pyramid has been damaged as the site has been used for an Easter crucifixion reenactment in more recent times. For this reason, the site is now considered a religious site, so a full excavation will not be carried out.
