Blackbeard’s Ship?
Researchers believe they may have found the wreck of the famous pirate Blackbeard’s ship off the coast of North Carolina. “Blackbeard’s Ship” Yields New Clues to Pirate Mystery.
Artifacts recovered from the 300 year old wreck indicate it was heavily armed and was probably built between 1690 and 1710. Blackbeard’s Queen Anne’s Revenge ran aground in 1718.
Even if the wreck turns out to be that of a different ship, archaeologists are still excited about the large number and diversity of items found.
