Vampires, ghosts and zombies in film and folklore are the target of theoretical physicist Professor Costas Efthimiou.

Spy photos help archaeologists

Australian archaeologists have uncovered ancient Syrian ruins with the help of declassified American spy photos from the 1960’s. Remains of pottery factories, tombs and an ancient basilica were found after anomolies in the landscape, visible on the sattelite photos, were spotted, giving the researchers clues on where to look.

Bone marrow extracted from fossils

Scientists have extracted fossilised bone marrow for the first time - from 10 million year old frog and salamander fossils found in Spain.
It is hoped the find will provide new insights into the genetic make-up of prehistoric animals.

An amazing new adhesive has been developed by UK resesarchers, inspired by the science behind a gecko’s feet. According to the developers, one square metre of the resuable polymer, named “Synthetic Gecko”, could hold the weight of the average family car.
