Didgeridoo lessons reduce snoring

Researchers in Switzerland have found that a test group of 25 people suffering from snoring and moderate obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (common sleep disorders) benefited from a four month course in playing the didgeridoo.
Training the upper airways in the breathing techniques required to play the instrument is credited with the improvements shown.

Queensland DNA breakthrough

Queensland scientists have made a breakthrough in DNA testing processes which allows them to extract samples up to 160 years old.
They’re hoping that the breakthrough could help police solve so-called “cold cases”, including high-profile mysteries like the identity of Jack the Ripper.

Dodo graveyard found

Scientists have found the remains of about 20 dodo birds in a “mass grave” in Mauritius. The find is exciting because not much is known about the dodo, the flightless bird found only on the island of Mauritius, which was hunted to extinction in the 17th century.
